City Mayor, Hamilton Greene, believes, that a percentage of the environmental tax ought to be allocated on a percentage basis to help the city. The Mayor was speaking during an interview with this newscast. And the Georgetown Mayor and City Council will commence a 12-day clean up of the city from Monday. The exercise will see the support of a number of businesses, private citizens and the US embassy will also be on board.

City Hall is also looking at a public education programme to raise the awareness of the proper disposal of garbage.
